Dr. Monthakan Ratnarathorn

Monthakan Ratnarathorn, MD

Pediatric Orthopedic Surgeon

Dr. Monthakan Ratnarathorn, M.D. joins our practice after spending seven years at the Childrens Hospital Central California in Madera, California. There, she treated all types of pediatric orthopaedic conditions, including fractures, sports injuries, neuromuscular disease, hip and knee problems, clubfeet and other lower extremity deformities. Dr. Ratnarathorn is board-certified and a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons as well as the Pediatric Orthopaedic Society of North America.

Dr. Ratnarathorn is a graduate of M.I.T. and Boston University School of Medicine. She completed her orthopaedic residency training at the Martin Luther King-Drew University Program in Los Angeles, California in 2003 and her pediatric orthopaedic fellowship under Dr. M. M. Hoffer at Orthopaedic Hospital in 2004.

Besides a strong commitment to the children in her practice, Dr. Ratnarathorn believes in outreach medicine. She was acknowledged for her outstanding resident contribution to the International Children's Program with the 2000 J. Vernon Luck, Sr. award at Orthopaedic Hospital. She plans on being an active member of Orthopaedic Overseas and participating in Third World medical missions in the near future.

"I believe strongly that there should be a great relationship between a physician and her patient and the patient's family. There should always be a good understanding of the diagnosis and the options for treatment."
